Aalborg Aquavit

To boost brand visibility and appeal in the U.S. among both seasoned aquavit drinkers and newcomers, Denmark’s Aalborg Aquavit developed the “Ice Skål” shot ski promotion for cold-weather markets, complete with a series of Aalborg-based shots crafted by renowned mixologists. Pronounced “Ice Skol” (a handy Nordification of “Ice Cold”), the promotion was activated in bars and sponsored pre-game events, tapping into the lively and competitive spirit of the moment and its target audience. The effort included a branding exploration and shot ski design, as well as development of on-premise promotional materials.
